Teaching Chess and Life

Today I read a short story called Teaching Chess and Life. This story is about a young man named Carlos who lives in a bad neighborhood. He could have been a target to get influenced by the wrong people but Carlos was very smart about the situation he was in. He joined an after school club to stay out of his neighborhood. Carlos joined the chess club and was assigned a mentor named Jeremy Chiappetta. Jeremy kept Carlos out of trouble and taught him to be respectful, and present his self in positive ways. As Jeremy grew older he got a job as an assistant coach at I.S 90. This was were Jeremy taught chess at. I also had a mentor he was my basketball coach. His name is Mr Brooks. He also does after school activities to such as basketball.

  1. Great reader response post-- you give details from hte story and then talk about connections to your own life. This post has great sentence structure and flows really well.

Just two changes-- This was WHERE Jeremy taught chess.... He also does after school activities TOO :)
